Method

Dry roast singhara atta or water chestnut flour on low medium flame. Stir well. Roast till it changes colour and you will get nice aroma of roasted flour.

Boil 1 cup water in another pan. Mix 1/2 cup jaggery syrup in it ( I used date palm jaggery ( khajur gur) but you can use sugar cane jaggery too. Melt jaggery in little water to make syrup).

Now when flour roasted well  add hot water and syrup mixture slowly so that no lump is formed. Stir continuously.

When water is absorbed completely add 1/2 tsp ghee. Mix well and keep stirring. Now turn off the gas. You can add little cardamom powder too.

Let it cool. Make small balls or laddu and garnish  with cashew nuts or any dry fruits of your choice. Enjoy it as a dessert on fasting days or regular days.
